Pride Journey Outdoors: Wisconsin

With more than 15,000 lakes and nearly 156,000 acres of state park, Wisconsin is one of America’s top states for nature lovers. Travel off the beaten path and explore all the Midwestern state has to offer from roaring waterfalls to bluff-top views. From hiking to biking, fishing to golfing, trails and adventure sports and more, Wisconsin is a year round outdoor adventure destination.

Bike the Elroy-Sparta State Trail: Considered the first rail-to-trail in the United States, the Elroy-Sparta State Trail remains one of the most popular trails in the country. With three rock tunnels and five small towns along its 32.5-mile route, the trail is a favorite Wisconsin bicycling destination. Traveling between Sparta and Elroy, the trail stretches through the communities of Norwalk, Wilton and Kendall, passing by wetlands, prairies, farmland and unglaciated areas.

Hike Devil’s Lake State Park: Explore Wisconsin’s largest state park. The 9,217-acre park is a hiker’s dream with nearly 30 miles of trails including paved paths to bluff-top hikes. The park is best known for the 500-foot quartzite cliffs that tower over its glacier-formed lake, including Balanced Rock which is just one of several stunning formations that date back to the last ice age.

Kayak Up North: With more than 15,000 inland lakes, 43,00 miles of rivers and 659 miles of Great Lake shoreline, Wisconsin is the mecca for water activities. Kayak the millions of acres of Wisconsin waters, from sea caves to whitewater rivers.
