Celebrate the Holidays in Houston

Houston, Texas offers endless attractions and activities this holiday season that appeal to adults and children alike; highlights include: exploring the Health Museum, boat tours on Buffalo Bayou, the Houston Symphony’s Family Concerts series, out of this world light displays at Space Center Houston, catching a kid-friendly performance at Miller’s beautiful outdoor amphitheater, unique animal exhibits at the Houston Zoo, and much more. Here are some of the top activities for visitors this holiday season:

Houston Botanic Garden: The $30 million 132-acre garden (which opened its doors on September 2020) will be hosting its first holiday light display this year; the internationally acclaimed Lightscape is coming to life this holiday season at Houston’s Botanic Garden. The captivating magical light displays set along a beautifully illuminated path will include installations unique to Texas created by local and international artists.

Galaxy Lights: Space Center Houston’s Galaxy Lights holiday exhibit has been dubbed the “most technological advanced light show in Texas.” The high-tech kinetic light shows will operate daily starting Nov. 13 through Jan. 2, 2022. Additionally, the show was expanded last year to include many new wonders, including stargazing at an indoor meteor shower, a Zero-G Diner patio, a 200-foot LED light tunnel made of more than 250,000 lights synchronized to festive holiday music, and much more!

City Lights at Avenida Houston: The community spectacle, City Lights at Avenida Houston, transports visitors to a winter wonderland through festive light displays and activities. To view 2020 display footage, please click here.
