Celebrate the New Year in Wisconsin

A New Year’s Eve in Wisconsin can mean anything you want it to. Wisconsin is often overlooked for winter travel thanks to its notoriously brisk temperatures, it actually is the best choice for a getaway this year to avoid over-crowded, sold-out destinations given the high demand for travel this year. In Wisconsin, some of the best and most unique winter activities to enjoy includes traveling through the "Snowmobile Capital of the World" where you’ll notice more snowmobiles than cars, enjoy snow trains that take you on a winter wonderland ride with Santa, and even surfing (yes, I said surfing!) at "The Malibu of the Midwest".

For an escape like no other this winter, Wisconsin can’t be beat. Skip the classic ball drop this year and instead count down in Plymouth, (AKA the cheese capital of the world), where visitors watch an 80-pound wedge of cheese drop instead. In Sister Bay, locals and visitors gather to celebrate Door County’s famous fruit with a 7-foot wide, 300-pound Cherry Drop, complete with ice-skating, bonfires, and the region’s only firework show. More New Year’s Eve events can be found here.
