Costa Rica’s Celebrated Beach Town is Taking Great Leaps Forward

Many of the additions surround the new El Prado neighborhood, which will spread over 60 acres on the other side of the town's main public road, which will soon be revamped as a traditional Main Street with inviting shops, cafes, trees and sidewalks. El Prado’s Parque Central (Central Park) will offer playing fields, four tennis courts, a neighborhood pool and elegant walking paths to further heighten community recreation, and many of the homes here and surrounding walkways will open up directly onto the trail circuit, allowing mountain bikers to have the luxury of a true bike-in/bike-out experience. El Prado will introduce a new network of intricate and beautiful streets, plazas and passages and will provide a great variety of living options including flats and townhouses, houses along stair streets, and a number of lots for larger houses.

The Beach Club is also undergoing a complete refurbishment by D’Aqui Design and will re-emerge this July as a sexy chic watering hole with perfectly stylish lines and natural tones featuring striking wood accents and creative lighting to epitomize relaxed beach glamour.

Meanwhile, Pots & Bowls, the wildly popular restaurant that first opened as a food truck in the height of the pandemic now operates as an actual restaurant and has a new sister restaurant next door called Pascual offering farm-to-table tapas and a wide selection of wines. The coming months will also see the opening of Papagayo Taphouse by Papagayo Brewing Co and Coquelicot, a charming European style food cart specializing in ice cream and waffles.
