Embracing Wellness in Carson City, Nevada

Just 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe and nestled against the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Nevada’s capital city attracts adventurers looking to explore the outdoors on hiking trails, mountain biking paths, dirt roads and more. However, there are offerings in Carson City that invite visitors to slow down, relax and rejuvenate their bodies, minds and spirits.

Home to some of the best mineral water in the West, the Carson Hot Springs Resort features indoor and outdoor soaking pools and tubs. The outdoor swimming pool and hot tubs are heated by natural hot spring water. The resort also offers private mini-spas, which offer a great way to relax in privacy.

And, while most would consider a triathlon the opposite of relaxing, Carson City’s spin on this will have travelers changing their minds. This activity can take place any day of the year (except for major holidays) and involves eating, drinking, and hot spring soaking. It is lovingly referred to as the Carson City Triathlon.

Visitors can drink, dine and dip for a completely relaxing and worry-free day. After soaking in the hot springs, grab a bite to eat next door at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint for a fresh salad, sandwiches, burgers and more. Then, head over to Shoe Tree Brewing Co. and grab a pint at Carson City’s Oldest and most award-winning brewery. Complete all three and you’re a Carson City triathlete!

Those looking for a more traditional wellness retreat are encouraged to visit the locally owned and operated, The Firm Cryo Spa & Wellness Center. Offering a menu of services including massages, facials, waxing and anti-aging cryotherapy treatments, travelers will appreciate The Firm’s atmosphere where they can take a deep, cleansing breath and relax into a day of pampering and self-care. Relax and rejuvenate in the detox lounge including a Himalayan Salt Room, Oxygen Bar, Far Infrared Sauna, and an Ionic Foot Detox.
