Two Autumns in Grand Junction

Unlike other parts of Colorado, Grand Junction gets a bonus season! Starting in mid-September, the nearby Grand Mesa and Uncompahgre Plateau that stand at over 10,000 feet in elevation, burst with brilliant displays of golden aspen groves contrasted by the deep green pines. The Grand Mesa Scenic Byway

This 23-mile scenic drive offers panoramic views of sheer red rock canyons and towering sandstone monoliths. During this “sweater weather” season, the cooler temperatures make it ideal for exploring over 43 miles of hiking trails or just enjoying the dramatic vistas from the many picnic areas or the comfort of your car.
