Fall in Love with Maryland

Maryland is particularly beautiful during the fall, with the leaves turning colors earlier in Western Maryland, while on the Eastern Shore, visitors can still see greenery. The C&O Canal is a must-see during the fall, from witnessing the rapids at Great Falls Tavern to biking or hiking along the towpath and seeing the birds starting to head south for the winter. Along the Horses & Hounds Scenic Byway, witness the rolling countryside known as Maryland's horse country. Along the byway, stop in at Boordy Vineyards which offers wine tasting, live music and yet another glorious autumn backdrop, a perfect way to cozy up to end a beautiful day.

In Western Maryland, head to Oakland, Maryland for the Annual Autumn Glory Festival, October 13-17, 2021. Oakland has been named "America's Best Town for Fall Colors," for good reasons as the gorgeous fall foliage surrounds Deep Creek Lake. Lastly, Ladew Topiary Gardens, located in Monkton, Maryland in the rolling countryside of horse country, is known as one of 10 incredible topiary gardens around the world. With 22 acres of gardens and more than 100 topiaries, a mile long nature walk and seasonal events such as the Garden Glow, an illumination celebration of Fall. Visitors will surely fall in love with Maryland this autumn season.
