With a nod to its visionary partner, Provenance Hotels announces the moniker of its latest venture to join the collection of award-winning, design-forward hotels – The Bradley. The project is a collaborative vision alongside Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, co-founder of the iconic global lifestyle brand, Vera Bradley.
Born of Midwestern charm and modern design sensibilities, The Bradley readies to become the cornerstone of entertaining and hospitality in the growing urban center of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Not just another hotel, the 124-room property will be a true reflection of the city, felt through the genuine spirit of community, industry and creativity that abounds beyond its own walls.
“The Bradley is a personal labor of love for me, channeling our vision to build a hotel that feels more like a home for my hometown and the travelers passing through,” says Barbara Bradley Baekgaard. “The vested interest the community has shown in supporting this project has been exciting. I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone.”
“We’re thankful for the way the Fort Wayne community has already embraced The Bradley, as our team and partner Barbara, have put our hearts into building something the city will be proud of, “said Katherine Durant, CEO and President of Provenance Hotels. “All of the growth and development Fort Wayne has undergone paints a positive picture for its future, and we’re looking forward to being a part of its next chapter.”
As if walking into Ms. Baekgaard’s own personal guesthouse, The Bradley will evoke a sense of comfort and warmth, curating a hotel experience unlike any other in the city. From the rooftop bar and designer suites – nine in total – to each cocktail, fabric and colorway, and work of locally sourced art, all will be seamlessly woven together to visually inspire and tell the story of the historic city. Dreamed to serve as a home-away-from-home for the local and travel community, the hotel will include a marquee ground-floor food and beverage operation, rooftop bar and more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as leasable ground floor retail space.
Continuing the momentum of Ft. Wayne’s downtown and waterfront revitalization, the hotel will join recent tourism developments including The Landing, a mixed-use commercial and residential project with 185 years of history; and Promenade Park, a destination for recreation, arts and culture, which officially debuted in August 2019.
Dutch East Design, the New York-based interior design and branding firm has been engaged to design both the interiors and the develop the project’s branding. Previously, the firm helped define the cutting edge of Midwestern lifestyle hotel design with their work on The Journeyman in Milwaukee and The Schofield Hotel in Cleveland. Now, they bring their talents to Fort Wayne joining Fort Wayne-based Elevatus Architecture and The Hagerman Group. Provenance Hotels will manage the hotel upon completion.
