Girls in Wonderland (GIW), one of the most highly anticipated LGBTQ+ festivals in Florida, is set to return to Orlando for its historic 25th anniversary. The silver celebration will take place at Springhill Suites/TownePlace Suites by Marriott, June 5-9th, 2025.
Since its founding in 2000, Girls in Wonderland has been an inclusive festival where queer women from around the globe connect through Pool Parties, live music performances, comedy shows, and a vibrant weekend of nighttime club events. For a quarter century, GIW has remained committed to creating a safe and empowering space that celebrates the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQ+ community.
A Legendary Legacy
Girls in Wonderland was founded by the dynamic trio Amy Alonso, Alison Burgos, and Yesi Leon, the brilliant minds behind Pandora Events. Over the past 25 years, this powerhouse lesbian event production company has revolutionized the queer nightlife scene, hosting wildly popular gatherings like Shedonism (Las Vegas, NV), Aqua Girl (Miami, FL), and, of course, Girls in Wonderland (Orlando, FL).
With its roots in South Beach, GIW has skyrocketed to become a major cultural force, drawing in thousands of attendees every year. From intimate parties to full-scale music festivals, it consistently showcases top-notch talent—ranging from globally recognized headliners to emerging local artists.
25 Years of Community Impact
Over two decades, GIW has welcomed an array of celebrity guests, comedians, influencers, and LGBTQ+ trailblazers, including Leisha Hailey, Kate Moennig, Fortune Feimster, and Chante Wayans. In 2025, the lineup promises an even bigger roster, featuring international musicians, top DJs, and comedians, sure to deliver a memorable, electrifying experience.
Beyond the entertainment, Girls in Wonderland remains committed to its philanthropic roots. Each year, GIW partners with community organizations to raise awareness and funds for vital LGBTQ+ causes. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, GIW will support Our Rainbow Nest, which focuses on providing support to LGBTQ+ individuals and couples as they start and/or grow their family. Through education, advocacy and community they provide workshops, seminars and resources to those interested in taking the next step.
“For 25 years, Girls in Wonderland has been about celebrating women, uplifting our community, creating a space where everyone feels at home and where everyone can be themselves,” says Yesi Leon, co-founder of Pandora Events. “This milestone anniversary only strengthens our resolve to keep fighting for LGBTQ+ equality and to ensure our attendees have a safe, empowering, and unforgettable experience.”
Standing Strong in Florida
Florida has been at the epicenter of intense legislative battles over LGBTQ+ rights in recent years. As proud Florida natives, the GIW founders have long championed equality, from forming Aqua Girl and the Aqua Foundation—the state’s first LGBTQ+ women’s non-profit—to serving on boards and committees for groups like Equality Florida and the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
“We stand our ground in Florida because we believe in our community,” says Alison Burgos. “We will not back down from our commitment, no matter the political climate. We are here to celebrate, advocate, and stay actively involved—just as we have done for the last 25 years.”
The 25th Anniversary Celebration
No matter which part of the festival you attend, Girls in Wonderland exudes an energy of inclusivity. As always, this 25th anniversary edition is a must-attend event for anyone wishing to celebrate their identity in a safe and affirming environment.
