Head to Washington, DC for a Perfect Fall Getaway

When it comes to cozy vibes, colorful leaves against iconic backdrops, marvelous weather, incredible food and a busy calendar of events, Washington, DC is hard to beat. On Oct. 6, the NFL’s Washington Commanders host their fourth annual Pride Night Out, as the team takes on the Cleveland Browns. Bus service will be provided from one of NoMa’s most fun beer gardens, Wundergarten. Nearby, Dock 5 at Union Market hosts the DC Coffee Festival (Oct. 5-6) and DC Wine Fest (Oct. 19), featuring more than 30 premium wine tastings included with admission.

Arts and culture are also centerstage this fall. The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, celebrating its 50th anniversary, welcomes Osgemeos: Endless Story, the largest U.S. exhibition of work by the famed Brazilian Pandolfo twins. Theatre Week kicks off Sept. 26 with more than 30 productions offering $20/$40/$60 pricing, including fees. Matthew Broderick makes his Shakespeare Theatre Company debut in political satire “Babbitt” (Oct. 1-27). Plus, don’t miss Art All Night (Sept. 27-28), a citywide arts festival that lasts until 3 a.m. The National Theatre welcomes Broadway’s Mean Girls back to the city where it first premiered (Oct. 15-20) and smash hit SIX (Nov. 12-Dec. 1).

With WorldPride 2025 inching closer (May 23-June 8), this fall is the perfect time to immerse yourself in a city at the forefront of the fight for equal rights. DC by Foot’s DC Pride Walks is a name-your-own-price walking tour with passionate guides that take you to iconic buildings, sites and neighborhoods, while sharing the stories of Washingtonians who bravely fought to protect their local communities and inspire a spirit of continued activism today.
