LGBTQ Visitors Experience Spring in the Spo!

Spokane, Washington, is where downtown charm meets outdoor adventure. Discover renowned urban and state parks, indulge in delicious cuisine, and embrace the best of the Pacific Northwest. Create unforgettable memories in Washington’s second-largest city.

Spokane, WA, is a four-season destination, and spring is the perfect time to go. Visit Riverfront Park, and while you’re there, ride the gondola over the Spokane Falls, slide down the giant Radio Flyer Red Wagon, feed the Garbage Goat, or catch a light show at the Pavilion. New in 2024: the Expo 50 Celebration from May 4-July 4. This two-month-long event honors the 1974 World’s Fair. A Powwow honoring Spokane’s indigenous culture, pop up speakeasies, roller skating, live concerts, fireworks, and more await.

Plan a visit to Spokane’s 90-acre botanical garden, Manito Park, with five distinct areas. Reminiscent of the manicured to-perfection gardens of Europe, you might gasp the moment you see the Duncan Garden for the first time. The Ferris Perennial Garden contains more than 300 perennial plants. Find inner peace with a stroll at Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden. Rose Hill has over 150 varieties of roses. No visit is complete without a spring stop at the Lilac Garden. It contains more than 100 named cultivars from 23 distinct species. This is the Lilac City, after all. Enjoy the Manito Park Art Festival on June 8, 2024.

On June 7, kick-off Pride Month in Spokane with local bands and regional performers. Then, on June 8, celebrate at the Spokane Pride Parade and Festival. This massive, family-friendly party takes place in the heart of downtown Spokane and lasts well into the night.
