Pride Journey Hotel Spotlight: Barnsley Resort Adairsville, Georgia

Tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies Barnsley Resort, a 3,000-acre retreat for families and loved ones to celebrate the holidays. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the resort hosts its annual 'Lighting of the Ruins' celebration. At this time, resort guests gather around and count down together for when it's time to flip the switch on the holiday lights for the very first time that season. The Manor House Ruins, gardens and village green come to life with more than one million twinkling holiday lights, strung along the exterior of the cottages, Woodlands Grill restaurant and more. The holiday lights are complemented by multiple well-appointed Christmas trees located in the lobby of the Inn, Georgian Hall, on the lawn of the village green and more. The holiday lights and decor will be up from November 25 - January 3, though from November 25 through November 28 they are exclusively available to overnight guests and Members. From post-Thanksgiving through early 2021, travelers should take advantage of the resort’s Warm & Cozy package which includes a $100 activity credit and a Barnsley Resort logo blanket for additional cozy comfort. Families will love the resort’s variety of cottages, ranging from one to seven bedrooms, providing complete privacy for the entire family. While the resort’s signature activities will be available for travelers to enjoy over throughout the holiday season, including golf, horseback riding, clay shooting and archery, a variety of special family friendly activities will be taking place, including a turkey trot 5K for Thanksgiving, various outdoor musical performances from a local artist, family friendly crafting session and more.
