Pride Journey Summer Getaway: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Stop to smell the roses or take a stroll through the Magnolia Grove. The Green Bay Botanical Garden paths wind through the 47 acres of beauty. The garden is a master class on beauty. From rustic structures to fountains that grace the landscape, there is something new to discover around every corner. The special exhibit “Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea” will be on display for Summer 2021.

Imagine the wind in your face as you zoom on the wooden rollercoaster, Zippin Pippin…the only coaster with a sentimental connection to the great Elvis Presley. Float high in the sky aboard the Big Wheel as you take in the waterfront views of the Bay of Green Bay. Bay Beach has the perfect combination of whimsical nostalgia and entertainment that has ride lovers coming back to this unique city park for generations.

This historic football stadium is on every sports fan’s bucket list, and is a ‘must visit’ during a trip to Green Bay. Tour the stadium, see the magnificent Packers Hall of Fame (our favorite is the trophy room) and grab a craft beer or a traditional Wisconsin Old Fashioned cocktail inside 1919 Kitchen & Tap. Stay at the lush Lodge Kohler right next to the stadium and book a treatment or two at the Kohler Waters Spa inside the hotel.

Known as a casual gathering place for the locals, CityDeck is a promenade along the Fox River. Restaurants, live entertainment and the relaxing riverfront traffic will have you kicking back enjoying your visit. Grab a coffee and walk along the deck or rent an electric bike and ride off on the winding path of the Fox River Trail, exploring sculptures and scenery along the way.

Every Wednesday evening in summer, one of Wisconsin’s best markets pops up on Broadway Street in downtown Green Bay. Combine the best produce and flower proprietors with food trucks, summer cocktails and live entertainment amid a bustling street of shops and pubs. Mix and mingle because this is the place to be.
