Property Review: Hilton Anatole

Dallas is one of my favorite cities in Texas to visit. I’ve been there many times for business and have a few friends who live outside the city. My most recent visit to the metroplex served as a stopover for my visit to Palestine, Texas, but I wanted to spend a few nights exploring the city before my road trip began. I decided to stay at the Hilton Anatole and was pleasantly surprised by the enormity of the property and breadth of its offerings.

The Room – If you stay at the Hilton Anatole, ask for room 1234. Not only is it easy to remember, but it is also one of the largest rooms I have ever stayed in. The suite comes complete with a full dining room, living room, kitchenette, and large master bedroom with seating area.

The Dining – The hotel features a few dining options ranging from a sports bar called Media Grill +Bar to their new fine dining steakhouse called SĒR Steak + Spirits located on the top floor of the hotel, with extensive panoramic views of the Dallas skyline. If you need something quick, swing by Counter Offer to a sandwich, pizza, or Starbucks coffee.

Resort Pool Complex – It’s not every day that you get to stay at a hotel with its own waterpark. JadeWaters features a lazy river, two water slides, a swim up bar, adults-only leisure cove, kid splash pad, cabana rentals and the JadeWaters Grill + Bar.

Verandah Fitness Club – Everything is bigger in Texas apparently. The Verandah Fitness Club at the Hilton Anatole is located in its own separate building. The space offers two fitness centers, a full-size basketball court and multiple studios for group classes ranging from yoga to TRX.

The Art – The property features an extensive collection of fine art including a propeller from the sunken RMS Lusitania located in the Anatole Sculpture Park as well as Nebula, a kinetic sculpture which serves as the centerpiece of the Grand Atrium. They even have two segments of the Berlin Wall and a marble statue of Gandhi on display.

The Location - The property is located within a quick drive of downtown Dallas, making it the perfect choice for business or leisure travel. Dallas’ gayborhood is called Oak Lawn and is located less than 2 miles from the hotel. LGBTQ-owned shops, restaurants, and bars line Cedar Spring Road and serves as the epicenter for LGBTQ culture in the city. Speaking of gay culture, Dallas is hosting their world-famous Purple Party May 5-9. The Hilton Anatole is the perfect place to stay if you plan on attending. This year’s lineup includes superstar DJ’s Deanne, Alex Acosta, Joe Ross, Dan Slater and more.
