Property Review: Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton

Talk about location…the Martinique New York on Broadway is truly the most convenient place to stay when visiting New York City. The beautiful property is located on West 32nd Street, within minutes of Times Square, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and just a 30-minute ride from LaGuardia Airport – on a good day.

The French-Renaissance style hotel, which is celebrating its 125 year anniversary in 2023, is a New York City designated landmark and is also part of the Historic Hotels of America and by the look of the grand staircase which stretches from the lobby to the top floor, I can see why.

Upon entering the lobby, guests are greeted by a modern sophistication that is welcoming yet doesn’t take away from the hotel’s historic charm. The lobby contains a beautifully appointed seating area as well as a coffee shop and restaurant, The Early Edition. The restaurant offers a number of New York specialties including Matzoh Ball soup and a delicious Rueben as well as more upscale entrees including Miso Glazed Salmon. Chef Franklin Becker and restaurateurs Stephen Loffredo and Tora Matsuoka are leading the hotel's food and beverage team.

The rooms at Martinique New York on Broadway are modern and spacious. My room on the penthouse level featured a king size bed, seating area and office space as well as a large walk-in shower. That level of the property also contains a large lounge area complete with a piano (piano player not included).

On the lower level of the hotel is GRIT fitness center, one of the larger hotel fitness centers I have seen in New York City. GRIT has a combination of cardio and weight equipment that can rival any upscale gym.

A little-known fact about the hotel…it was the location where the Professional Golfers Association was formed April 10, 1916.

I definitely recommend visiting this property if you are planning a visit to the Big Apple.
