The Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (SDACVB) proudly welcomes an impressive number of new business to the Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville area, just in time for an expected busy summer season. From restaurants and bakeries to boutiques and attractions, visitors can explore these new offerings in the area.
Visitors can experience new cuisine and delicious baked goods with the openings of the following restaurants and bakeries:
· Lady Bird: (recently opened) - unique, modern American fare with a cozy inn upstairs
· Saugataco: (opening mid-May) – fun, chef-driven, fast casual with cocktails
· happystance: (opening early May) chef-driven breakfast and lunch, 7 days a week
· Retro Bakery: (opening soon) – delicious baked goods
· Erica June Baking Co. (opening May 10) – donuts, bagels, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls
· Creekside Kitchen: (opening soon) - home cooking right in the heart of Glenn
· The Pierogies Factory: (opening soon) – classic pierogies, kielbasa, savory cabbage rolls
· Sweet Haven: (opening soon) - candy store famous for handmade fudge
There’s no shortage of fantastic shopping in the Saugatuck Douglas area and these new stores are a wonderful addition to the retail scene:
· Lee and Birch: (recently opened): high quality, classic women’s clothing
· Lulu Cadieux: opening second location in downtown Saugatuck
· Garsnett Beacon Candle Company: (opening early May), will offer signature candle pouring experience, perfect for occasions like birthdays, bachelorette parties
· The Cellar Door Trades :(recently opened) – curated selection of small-batch, handmade art, and handpicked treasures from talented artists and small businesses
While it’s not new to the culinary scene, an area favorite, The Southerner, has undergone a rebrand and updated its website - offering branded china and merchandise. They will be adding an outdoor pickup and waiting area – perfect to grab a drink while you wait for a table or takeout. Twos local favorites, The Root Beer Barrel and The Butler Pantry are both under new ownership as is The Little Store. And Farmhouse Deli expanded to take over the entire building at 100 Blue Star Hwy and doubled the size of their deli.
