Taking a Tour of Thunder Bay's Newest LGBTQ-Welcoming Properties



Nestled along the rugged shores of Lake Superior, Thunder Bay, Ontario, is a vibrant city that blends natural beauty with rich cultural heritage. Here are two new LGBTQ-friendly hotels opening in 2025.


Located near the airport and adjacent to its sister property, Home2 Suites by Hilton Thunder Bay is the city's newest hotel. The hotel offers both standard and fully accessible rooms, each with kitchenettes, as well as small meeting rooms for intimate gatherings. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary breakfast, a swimming pool, a business suite, airport shuttle, EV Charging Stations, and easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping.



Located within walking distance of Thunder Bay’s Waterfront District and the shores of Lake Superior, the Superior Shores Hotel is the newest boutique hotel on the city's North Side. Recently purchased and fully renovated, the hotel offers a range of unique and relaxing features throughout. Each room includes an accent wall inspired by local landscapes, while the hotel also boasts a breakfast area, a small fitness center, and a beautifully painted mural in the main lobby.
