The Pocono Mountains Is Your Perfect Winter Getaway

Winter has arrived in the Pocono Mountains, and snowmaking is underway at our six fantastic ski areas. If you’ve always wanted to learn to ski or snowboard, now is the perfect time! Dedicated and experienced instructors at all six mountains provide private and group lessons. Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain and Shawnee Mountain are great for beginners, while experts will want to try the highest vertical in Pennsylvania, the 1,082-foot Razor’s Edge, at Blue Mountain Resort. Big Boulder Ski Area is known for its terrain parks, and its sister resort, Jack Frost Mountain, offers groomed and inviting trails: one lift ticket will give you access to both mountains. The largest ski resort in the Poconos, Camelback Mountain, was just voted the #1 snow tubing destination in the nation in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Over 40 lanes light up after dark for out-of-this-world galactic tubing.

After a day of fun in the snow, enjoy a cozy overnight getaway. Great Wolf Lodge just unveiled their multi-million dollar expansion, featuring spaces dreamed up by celebrity designer Nate Berkus. Book a cabin in the woods at Babbling Brook Cottages or enjoy a bed and breakfast stay at historic Hotel Fauchere in charming Milford. There’s lots to do in the evening in our quaint small towns: grab a delicious meal, enjoy drinks at wineries, breweries, and distilleries along the Pocono Beverage Trail, or catch a movie or show at atmospheric venues like the Milford Theater and Performing Arts Center, the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe, or the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg. See you in the Poconos!
