Hilton is bringing its prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand to Texas for the first time with the debut of Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country and Waldorf Astoria Residences Texas Hill Country. Slated to open in 2027, this luxurious new destination will be located in the heart of Texas Hill Country, just outside of Fredericksburg. The project is the result of a collaboration between Hilton and Wine Country Hospitality Partners LLC, led by developers Mark Harmon, Robert Radovan, and Tim Sparapani.
The sprawling resort will offer a mix of accommodations and private residences. It will feature 60 hotel guest rooms and suites, along with 37 branded resort villas, which can be included in a hotel rental program, adding 74 keys to the inventory. In addition, there will be 50 private residences designed for full-time living. Guests and residents alike will enjoy a host of upscale amenities, including five distinct dining venues, an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, two resort-style pools, and more.
The location offers a scenic and idyllic escape, just under two hours from both Austin and San Antonio. Fredericksburg itself is a popular destination, known for its wineries, rolling hills, and charming downtown area. The resort will be situated less than a mile from the town center, making it an ideal base for wine enthusiasts and travelers seeking a luxurious retreat in the countryside.
Designed by a team of renowned firms including Studio CABAN, FAB Studio, TIPLER Group, Studio Outside, and Paul Duesing Partners, the resort will reflect the natural beauty of the area. The accommodations will incorporate Texan-inspired design elements, with multi-room resort villas featuring private plunge pools and outdoor courtyards.
For those seeking permanent luxury living, the Waldorf Astoria Residences Texas Hill Country will offer 87 homes. These will range from single-story estates to cottage-style Sunday homes with three to five bedrooms. The residences will be designed to blend into the landscape, offering sweeping views of Baron’s Creek and the surrounding rolling hills. Owners will enjoy access to the resort’s amenities and the legendary service of the Waldorf Astoria brand, including signature resident services and Hilton Honors Diamond status for the duration of ownership.
Mark Harmon, one of the project’s developers, emphasized the unique charm of the area, describing the vision for the resort as a way to create a new experience that highlights the architecture and history of Fredericksburg. Robert Radovan added that the Waldorf Astoria Residences will offer a rare chance to own a home in this picturesque region, paired with the convenience and prestige of branded living.
Tim Sparapani echoed their excitement, highlighting the resort’s potential to redefine luxury hospitality in Texas. With its combination of refined design, breathtaking scenery, and world-class amenities, the Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country aims to become a premier destination for both visitors and full-time residents.
Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to diverse dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a specialty venue, a bar and lounge, a poolside bar, and a grab-and-go juice bar. The spa and fitness facilities will span over 11,000 square feet, featuring ten treatment rooms and sports courts. The resort will also cater to families with a Kids Club and offer ample event space, including a 4,000-square-foot event barn, making it an ideal venue for weddings, retreats, and corporate events.
Once open, the hotel will be part of Hilton Honors, the company’s guest loyalty program. The project joins a growing portfolio of Waldorf Astoria properties worldwide, with upcoming openings in New York, Costa Rica, Osaka, and London. Hilton currently operates nearly 600 properties in Texas, with an additional 240 in development.
The Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country promises to bring a new level of luxury to the region, offering an unparalleled experience of refined hospitality, elegant design, and the timeless service that the brand is known for.
