What's New in Flint & Genesee

Flint & Genesee is a great place to visit when you’re looking for fun and unique activities without breaking the bank. Flint is home to a world-class cultural center with seven institutions all on one campus. Spend the day exploring arts and culture including the Flint Institute of Arts, the second largest fine-arts museum in Michigan; Longway Planetarium, Michigan’s largest and most technologically advanced planetarium; the Sloan Museum of Discovery, a hands-on science and history museum; and the Whiting Auditorium, which features amazing shows all year long.

Flint & Genesee is also home to amazing craft dining and cocktail options throughout the region, with several LGBTQ+-owned and friendly restaurants and bars. In Fenton, the Laundry is an LGBTQ+-owned restaurant that has been a fixture in the community for over 25 years. Just north of there, the Fenton Winery & Brewery/Dream Machine Distillery is an amazing craft beer, wine, and spirit maker and the host spot for Fenton Pride Collective’s Monthly LGBTQ+ meet ups. Finally, in Flint, the new Queen’s Provisions is an openly LGBTQ+-friendly wine, beer, and charcuterie shop that hosts queer events such as Kikis at Queen’s on the third Tuesday of each month.
